Being a creative entrepreneur can be exhausting! If you’re like me and you do a majority of your work from home it can feel like you’re ‘always on’ and can’t seem to get away from your work. Let’s avoid burnout this year by prioritizing our wellness & happiness, okay?!
I want to talk about 5 wellness habits that I’ve started implementing religiously into my daily routines that have been saving me from busy season burnout. These are my daily non-negotiables & help me stay focused, calm and healthy!
1- Regular Exercise. My #1 non-negotiable is daily movement. This looks different day to day because I try to exercise according to where I’m at in my cycle (yay cycle syncing!). It’s no secret that exercise is important for both physical and mental health. It helps me to stay energized throughout the day and reduce stress. I try to work out for at least 30 minutes each day, whether it’s going for a run or doing yoga or taking the dogs for a walk through the neighborhood.
2- Healthy Eatin’. As a creative entrepreneur, I know how easy it is to reach for unhealthy snacks when you’re busy. However, eating a balanced diet is important for both physical and mental health. I make sure to eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. I also make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. I also try to eat based off of where I’m at in my cycle so make sure I’m fueling my body for where my hormones are at. This has been the BIGGEST game changer for maintaining energy levels! If you’re new to cycle syncing check out this book – this is what got me hooked!
3- Time Management. Effective time management is crucial for any entrepreneur. I prioritize my tasks by making a to-do list each morning and scheduling blocks of time for each task. I also try to minimize distractions, such as social media or email, by setting aside specific times of the day to check them.
4- Wim Hof it! I’m sure you’ve heard of the Wim Hof method by now if you’re in any type of health community lol. The Wim Hof method combines breathing, cold therapy & commitment to help you connect more deeply to your body. I’ll be honest with you, during the winter months I RARELY am able to go through with the cold showers. But when I do his breathing techniques and cold showers religiously I definitely feel the difference. If you need someone to hold you accountable for the cold showers reach out to me on IG and I’ll hype you up 🙂
5- Rest & Relaxation. YUP. Daily R&R is critical for well being. As a creative entrepreneur, it’s easy to get caught up in work and forget to take time for yourself. I make sure to take breaks throughout the day to stretch, go for a walk, or simply take a few deep breaths. I also try to disconnect from work and technology at least an hour before bed to allow my mind to relax and prepare for sleep.
By incorporating these 5 wellness habits into your daily routine, you can help manage stress, increase productivity and improve overall well-being. I’d love to know in the comments which of these you think you can start implementing ASAP! Or if you have other habits that you’ve found you love – I’m always looking to expand my self-care practices 🙂
PS – my next topic is going to be related to an end-of-day routine that will help you wind down & disconnect from your work so your nervous system isn’t constantly in fight or flight in your own home. This has been a personal passion project of mine to learn allllll about the nervous system & vagus nerve so can’t WAIT to dive deeper into this topic.
